i really fuckin hated shinji because of the kinds of decisions he made but it was all real and believable so it also made me love him i mean on some level he was everything we try not to be and he caused the end of the fucking world but he also made very understandable decisions and the fact that i understood why he made those choices made me hate him even more

the other characters were really freaking amazing (can i holla at my girl misato real quick) like wow seriously every single character seemed very very relatable and…..

also i think the thing i liked best about eva is that it’s such a real depiction of human emotion and mentality IT REALLY SCARED ME OK I DIDNT KNOW IT WOULD HIT SO CLOSE TO HOME WHY DID NOBODY WARN ME ABOUT THIS? ??

? oh my god all the symbols and motifs and metaphors and the whole series revolving around people alienating themselves and the eventuality that we will be our own apocalypse
